Itinerary

Day 1: Friday, October 4, 2024 – Miami

Departure from Miami with a layover in Istanbul, en route to Seoul. Departure cities include: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Houston, New York, Newark, Washington DC (price consultation required for departures other than Miami).

Day 2: Saturday, October 5, 2024 – Istanbul – Seoul

Arrival at Istanbul Airport to connect with your flight to Seoul.

Day 3: Sunday, October 6, 2024 – Seoul

Welcome to South Korea! Upon arrival at Seoul Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Free evening and overnight in Seoul.

Day 4: Monday, October 7, 2024 – Seoul (D)

In the late afternoon, meet your guide for an introduction to this fascinating country. We will take the modern and efficient metro (learn how to use this public transport) to City Hall to see the Tsunami-shaped building. Also, see the Deoksugung Palace, illuminated at night, showcasing the blend of tradition and modernity. Walk to Myeongdong, the largest shopping and entertainment area in Korea, meaning ‘bright tunnel’. Dinner included at a local restaurant. Overnight in Seoul.

Day 5: Tuesday, October 8, 2024 – Seoul (L)

Today, we will take a five-hour tour of Seoul. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Changdeokgung Palace, a palace complex within a large park. Walk through Bukchon Hanok village, a historic neighborhood with traditional houses. Visit the War Memorial, an impressive museum detailing Korea’s conflicts, particularly the Korean War. Lunch included at a local restaurant. Continue to the Gangnam District, a bustling area with numerous shopping and entertainment centers. Finally, stop at LOTTE WORLD TOWER, a stunning 550-meter-high building. Free time to visit the tower (entrance not included) or stroll through its park and luxury shopping centers. Return to the hotel and free time. Overnight in Seoul.

Day 6: Wednesday, October 9, 2024 – Seoul – Suwon (L) – Jeonju

Visit the Gyeongbokgung Palace, a grand palace with 600 years of history, and witness the changing of the guard ceremony if available. Travel south to SUWON, the ancient capital of Korea, known for its impressive UNESCO World Heritage walls. Visit the Hwaseong Haenggung, the summer palace, and the fortifications. Lunch included. Continue to JEONJU and explore its fascinating historical center (hanok village) with traditional houses, shops, and art galleries.

Day 7: Thursday, October 10, 2024 – Jeonju – Haeinsa – Daegu (L) – Busan

Travel through scenic mountain landscapes to HAEINSA, a Buddhist temple built in 802, housing the Tripitaka, the most complete collection of Buddhist texts engraved on 80,000 wooden blocks. Visit the temple and the Tripitaka museum. Continue to DAEGU to visit the traditional medicine market and the Oriental Medicine Museum. Lunch included. Proceed to BUSAN, Korea’s second-largest city. Upon arrival, stop at the Doosan Haeundae complex with skyscrapers over 300 meters tall and a marina. Overnight in Busan.

Day 8: Friday, October 11, 2024 – Busan (L) – Seoul

In the morning, visit HAEDONG YONGGUNG, a 14th-century Buddhist temple by the sea. Return to Busan to visit the UN Memorial, the cemetery of people from many countries. Explore the largest fish market in Korea near Nampo Port. Lunch included. Walk to Yongdusan Park with its 120-meter-high pagoda. At 17:30, take the high-speed train to Seoul, a three-hour journey. Transfer to the hotel and overnight in Seoul.

Day 9: Saturday, October 12, 2024 – Seoul – Tokyo (D)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Tokyo. Welcome to Japan! After customs and immigration procedures, an assistant (usually Spanish-speaking, sometimes English-speaking) will greet you. Transfer by shuttle bus to your hotel. Meet your guide in the evening for a nighttime tour, starting with a metro ride to Shinjuku and a walk to a local restaurant for a welcome dinner. Return to the hotel by metro with your guide. Overnight in Tokyo.

Day 10: Sunday, October 13, 2024 – Tokyo (L)

Morning city tour of Tokyo, visiting Zojoji Temple for the best view of Tokyo Tower and Shibuya Crossing, reputedly the busiest crossing in the world. Visit Meiji Shrine and continue through Omotesando Street, the Imperial Palace gardens, Nijubashi Bridge, Akihabara’s Electric Town, and the Sumo Stadium. End the tour at Asakusa’s Sensoji Temple and Nakamise Street. Lunch included. Free afternoon. Overnight in Tokyo.

Day 11: Monday, October 14, 2024 – Tokyo – Mount Fuji – Kawaguchiko (D)

Travel to the scenic Mount Fuji area, starting at Arakurayama Sengen Park with its famous pagodas. Continue to Kawaguchiko, a picturesque town with a beautiful lake. Visit Fuji Sengen Shrine, a traditional pilgrimage start point. Take a boat ride on Lake Kawaguchiko and drive up to the fifth station on Mount Fuji at 2305 meters. Free lunch. Japanese dinner included. Overnight in Kawaguchiko.

Day 12: Tuesday, October 15, 2024 – Kawaguchiko – Iyashi no Sato Nemba – Toyota – Kyoto

Travel along scenic lakeside roads to IYASHI NO SATO NENBA, a village destroyed by a cyclone in 1966 and now an open-air museum with traditional mountain houses. Visit the beautiful Shiraito Falls and continue to Nagoya to visit the Toyota Museum. Arrive in Kyoto and overnight.

Day 13: Wednesday, October 16, 2024 – Kyoto

Full day in Kyoto, the Japanese capital from 794 to 1868, with a rich artistic heritage. Visit Arashiyama, Togetsukyo Bridge, Tenryuji Temple, the bamboo forest, Fushimi Inari Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and Kinkakuji (the Golden Pavilion). Stroll through Gion, the traditional Geisha district. Free time and overnight in Kyoto.

Day 14: Thursday, October 17, 2024 – Kyoto – Nara (L) – Osaka

Travel to NARA to visit Todaiji Temple, home to the Great Buddha and free-roaming deer. Lunch included. Visit HORYUJI Temple, the oldest wooden structure in the world. Continue to OSAKA, Japan’s second-largest city. Evening visit to Dotonbori, a lively district with lights and activity. Overnight in Osaka.

Day 15: Friday, October 18, 2024 – Osaka

Free day in Osaka for personal activities. Overnight in Osaka.

Day 16: Saturday, October 19, 2024 – Osaka

Breakfast and check-out. Store your luggage at the hotel until the guide informs you of the pick-up time for your return flight. End of services.

NOTE: The layover in Istanbul is 8.5 hours. We recommend requesting the free Istanbul city tours offered by Turkish Airlines for connections over 6 hours. This city tour can be done on October 20th upon arrival at Istanbul Airport (IST).

Both the cities and the order of visits may change without prior notice for the better development of the tour.

  • The remaining balance must be paid 45 days before the trip departure date.

  • At the time of booking, a copy of the passport is required with a minimum validity of 6-9 months after the return date of your trip, and it must have a minimum of 2 blank pages for international stamps.

  • Visas: Check if an entry visa is required for the destination country according to your nationality (consult with your travel agent or the specific embassy of the destination you are visiting).

  • Allowed luggage is one carry-on and one suitcase of 50 pounds (23 kilos).
